Climate change is a rising national security issue. Based on an earlier National Energy Strategy for the LAF, and in combination with the EU’s support to Lebanese national security and border control, we are working on increasing LAF personal comfort and security through various sustainable interventions at the North-Eastern border region of Lebanon. In specific, we are focusing on the installation of 21 solar PV and micro-wind with advanced storage systems, solar hot water systems, biomass stoves and boilers with related sustainable locally produced feedstock, energy efficient lighting, sustainable deployable solar solutions, and retrofits for thermal comfort on 21 bases of the LAF that are focused on protecting Lebanon.
