Karim manages the UNDP-CEDRO project and is also the UNDP Energy Advisor since 2023. Following his graduation from the American University of Beirut with a BEE in Electrical Engineering in 1987 he worked for a leading power equipment manufacturer for more than a decade before serving the Ministry of Energy & Water as an energy consultant on power generation policies and hydropower development. Karim also served the Ministry of Environment in the preparation of the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report and Mitigation Analysis for the Energy Sector in Lebanon and the related National communications on Climate Change. Karim is a founding member and former president of Semeurs D’avenir a leading NGO in technical education and vocational trainings. With his comprehensive experience in electricity policies, the power generation industry and technical education, Karim applies a multidisciplinary approach to the various phases of the CEDRO project.

Sana is part of the UNDP – CEDRO team since 2020 since graduating from the University of Turin & ITCILO, Turin with a master’s degree in Management of Development. Sana is passionate about the interconnection of social, environmental and economic aspects of societies and their collective contribution to development. Armed with her cross disciplinary studies in Economics and Management, Sana hopes to have firsthand experience and play a central role in the growth and development that the UNDP advocates and leads in its work in Lebanon.
Fatima joined the CEDRO 5 team after working in the renewable energy field in the private sector since 2015. Through her experience, she has developed project management and coordination skills by working with consultants, beneficiaries and organizations for the implementation of renewable energy projects all over Lebanon. In addition to her degree in Engineering, Fatima has several energy related certificates from the Association of Energy Engineers, namely CEM, CEA, CMVP and PCF.
Fatima strongly believes that we should collectively play a role to improve the quality of life for people in our community, especially under the current electrical crisis.
