With the ongoing pandemic, the Lebanese public health-care sector has shown its importance and value to society and has stepped up to take the full responsibility to treat those effected by the virus. To assist the public health care hospitals in better managing scarce resources to focus on health care provision, we will aim to install and/or upgrade commercial-scale solar hot water systems and solar PV systems, as well as transform the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) for 10 allocated first responder hospitals. This will save and divert resources to health care instead of being burned as fuel. We will conduct energy audits and assist the Ministry of Public Health to adopt a sustainable energy plan for all Lebanese health care institutions.
