The village of Tal Znoub, located in the Bekaa valley, suffers from long hours of blackouts resulting in a sense of insecurity in the area during the night. In 2012, the UNDP CEDRO I,II,III project funded by the Spanish kingdom replaced 30 inefficient street lighting bulbs with efficient and longer lasting LED lightings bulbs. The total installed capacity sums up to 0.9 kWp and are designed to save the municipality a total of $420 per year on electricity cost and 2.7 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
