The industrial sector is one of the cornerstones of the Lebanon economy and one of the most energy intensive users. In 2015-2016 the CEDRO project published two important studies about energy efficiency in industry along with a publication on industry and jobs. During the same period 3 landmark solar PV hybrid diesel (135-300 kWp) systems were implemented with co-financing from the industry partners.
More recently, the CEDRO V project partnered with the Association of Lebanese Industrialists to implement 10 renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Lebanese industries. The projects are co-financed by the European delegation in Lebanon and the industry partner; and will pilot 4 new technologies to the Lebanese market. These technologies will be distributed along the following systems: solar PV systems with lithium-ion battery storage and advanced monitoring, concentrated solar thermal systems, several energy efficiency interventions in industrial processes and finally biogas systems from food and agricultural waste.
