The Gemayel Frere SAL was founded in 1929 to become a pioneer in the cardboard industry in Lebanon. The company has produced its cardboard from recycled paper , and is located in the industrial zone of Bikfaya, Matn, Mount Lebanon. In 2016, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the EU implemented a 300 kWp Solar PV system that is designed to save the industry $45,000 per year a 299 tons CO2 per year.
