The intermediate public school in Hosh el Harime is located in the qaza of west Bekaa, Bekaa Valley. The public school hosts 345 students from the neighboring area and employs 22 staff members. In 2009, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Spanish Government implemented a 1.8 kWp solar PV system with batteries to save $394 per year of electricity cost. The system saves on the environment 2.8 tons of CO2 emissions per year. In 2019 with a funding from the kingdom of the Netherlands, the lead-acid battery set was upgraded and charge controller was fixed.
