CAHL is a humanitarian center founded in the village of Ghazir in 1923 and moved to its present location in Bourj Hammoud in 1946. It consists of an elderly home that hosts approximately 140 people and a kindergarten. The center is run jointly by the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia and the Armenian Evangelical Church. In 2018, the CEDRO UNDP project funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands implemented a 40 kWp solar PV system on the rooftops of the facility. The system is designed to save the organisation $9,600 per year in electricity and fuel cost and 42 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
