Al Marej Secondary public school is located in the village of Marej, West Bekaa and hosts a total of 350 students and 40 staff members. In 2012, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Spanish Government implemented a 1.8 kWp solar PV system with batteries to save $394 per year of electricity cost. The system saves on the environment 2.8 tons of CO2 per year.
