The public school in Kfarkela, Marjeyoun, Nabatieh, South Lebanon, hosts 150 students from the neighboring area and 17 staff members. In 2010, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Spanish Government implemented a 1.125 kWp solar PV system with batteries to save $246 per year of electricity cost. The system saves on the environment 1.7 tons of CO2 emissions per year. In 2019, the set of lead-acid batteries was replaced by the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the kingdom of the Netherlands.
