Under the CEDRO I,II,III Spanish project, the port of the city of Batroun, North Lebanon was equipped in 2012 with a 7.5 kW centralized solar PV system that powers 62 LED street lights of 30W capacity each, 20 LED street lights of 27W capacity each and 14 LED projectors of 100W capacity each. The installed system along with the replaced more efficient lighting equipment are designed to save the municipality a total of $1,000 per year in electivity cost and 8.4 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
