Hammana WWTP

The Hammana waste water treatment plant (WWTP) is located in the village of Hammana, Baabda, Mount Lebanon. The WWTP is operated and owned by the municipality and treats the waste water of 7,000 Lebanese residents of the area and 1,200 syrian refugees. In 2018, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands implemented a 45 kWP solar PV system with a 190 kWh lithium ion battery storage. The system is designed to save the municipality $10,000 per year on electricity and diesel fuel costs and 45 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
