Chiyah Secondary Public School

The public school in Chiyah is located in the the district of Baabda. Mount Lebanon and is attended by 240 students per year. The school employs 28 staff members. In 2011, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Spanish Government implemented a 1.8 kWp solar PV system with batteries to save $394 per year of electricity cost. The system saves on the environment 2.8 tons of CO2 emissions per year. In 2019, the led-acid battery system was replaced by the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
