The intermediate public school in Jran is located in the qaza of Batroun, North Lebanon. The public school is the only public school in the area and hosts 123 students. In 2011, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Spanish Government implemented a 1.8 kWp solar PV system with batteries to save $394 per year of electricity cost. The system saves on the environment 2.8 tons of CO2 emissions per year. In 2019, some electric connections were fixed as part of the maintenance project funded by the Netherlands Kingdom.
