The Nabatieh Food market is a public 13,000 m2 vegetable and fruits market located in Nabatieh, South Lebanon. The wholesale and retail market is owned by the municpality and was implemented to help increase the economic activity in the city. The market is located 3 km outside the city center and is thought to centralize the food activity and help decrease the congestion the food street vendors were causing. In 2018, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the kingdom of the Netherlands implemented a 200 kWp solar PV system on the roof-top of the market. The system is designed to save the municipality $37,000 in electricity and fuel cost, environmentally, the system is designed to save 207 tons of CO2 per year.
