The technical school in Deir El Qamar is located in the qaza of Shouf, Mount Lebanon. The school offers a wide range of vocational training courses and degrees and is attended by 100 students and employs 30 staff members. In 2011, the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Spanish Government implemented a 1.125 kWp solar PV system with lead-acid battery storage. The system is designed to save the school $246 per year in electricity cost and 1.7 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
