The public school in Khelwet, North Lebanon hosts 200 students per year and employs 25 staff members. In 2011, the school received a 1.125 kWp solar PV system with batteries. The system was implemented by the UNDP CEDRO project funded by the Spanish Government and is designed to save the school $246 per year in electricity cost and 1.7 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
